In June, Italian businesses anticipate to hire around 595,000 new employees, a 5.1% increase over the previous year. According to data from the Excelsior Bulletin (Unioncamere and the Ministry of Labor), total hires in the June-August quarter are reaching 1.5 million. Growth is being driven by services (+6.4%) and manufacturing (+2.9%), while construction is experiencing a decline (-2.6%). The challenge of recruiting personnel remains significant, although it is diminishing: 45.4% of positions are challenging to fill, primarily due to a scarcity of candidates. Construction, fashion, wood furniture, metallurgy, and mechatronics are the sectors that are experiencing the most difficulties. Among the most sought-after and difficult-to-find profiles are technicians and engineers (up to a 66% mismatch), healthcare professionals, electrical and electronic maintenance workers, beauty salon operators, and textile and metalworking plant operators.
