Between now and 2035, 170 more fast food restaurants will arrive in Italy under the banner of American bigwig Wendy's, which has just announced an exclusive franchising agreement with the company Your Food, as part of a broader European expansion strategy for the brand. It is a move that seems to confirm how, despite the current stagnant consumer environment, quick service still represents a segment that is considered to be under development in Italy. This operation alone is expected to result in the creation of about 5,000 new jobs. The first two restaurants are scheduled to open in Milan in early 2026. Founded in 1969, The Wendy's Company is listed on Nasdaq and is considered the third largest hamburger brand in the world, after McDonald's and Burger King. With 7,000 outlets, it boasts a total network turnover (“systemwide sales”) of $14.5 billion. Your Food, on the other hand, was born in 2025 from the union of Resca Group (whose founder Mario Resca also assumes the role of group chairman), BGenera Group headed by the Buglisi family, Venus Group headed by Stefano Core and First Capital headed by the Ciacciofera family. The ambitious goal of the new company formed by partners from various sectors with experience in catering, hospitality, real estate and financial services is to make Wendy's the market leader in Italy.
