2024 marks a positive year for Italy’s entertainment industry. According to the SIAE Report, which was created with PTSCLAS, there were 3.37 million events (+6.15% compared to 2023), 253.5 million spectators (+2.25%), and a total spending of more than €4 billion (+1.94%). Despite a modest decrease in the average expenditure per spectator (€15.83), participation increased. The average audience per event declined (75.2 individuals, -3.7%), indicating a more dispersed system that is less dependent on huge events. Cinema continues to have the most performances (81%) but has little effect on audiences (29%) and spending (13%). Live music, on the other hand, dominates the market, accounting for only 2% of all events but 29 million spectators and 25% of total spending. Pop-rock reigns supreme, although jazz (+18.6%) and classical music are also expanding. Sports, with 2% of events, attract 15% of the public and account for 21% of spending. Theaters also did well, with an attendance increase of 7.2%. Nightclubs and dance venues, which comprised 6% of the offerings, accounted for 13% of the attendance.
