Eni has inked a long-term supply agreement for liquefied natural gas (LNG) with the American company Venture Global. The Italian state-owned corporation will buy 2 million tons per year for 20 years. Deliveries are expected to start in 2030. This is the first time the Italian energy giant has entered into a long-term LNG partnership with an American company. Venture Global's plant is presently in the process of being developed in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, United States. This agreement marks Eni's first long-term supply of liquefied natural gas from the United States. A portion of these volumes will be used to diversify the gas supply in Europe. Venture Global's renowned success in liquefaction plant construction will assist Eni in expanding its LNG portfolio to suit the changing needs of clients in major global markets. Eni now has a network of LNG supply agreements that stretches from Angola to Congo, Mozambique to Nigeria, Egypt to Qatar, and partly Algeria.
