Even in Italy, robots are beginning to appear in both production lines and hospitals. The latest arrival is a 1.85-meter-tall, 120-kilogram 'big guy' ready to replace workers in jobs that are too repetitive or dangerous, powered by two computers instead of a heart. He is called RoBee and he is the Italian challenge to the emerging global humanoid market. The invention is made in Brianza, created and developed by Oversonic Robotics by Fabio Puglia and Paolo Denti. Mass production of these 140,000-a-piece humanoid automatons could be outsourced to Turin. On July 25 at the Unione Industriali in Turin, the company's top management will discuss it in a confidential meeting with local entrepreneurs, institutions, banking and foundation representatives. Oversonic has already raised more than 30 million euros. And it has started a small production, almost artisanal but with 3D printers, in Carate Brianza. Paolo Denti, the CEO of Oversonic Robotics, explained that the idea of creating a humanoid automaton made in Italy came to him during Covid’s time. "I used to see all these nurses getting sick in triage and I couldn't get my head around it. Those registration operations can be done by a robot." According to Denti, we have entered a new phase of the industry.
