Jannik Sinner has made his choice: Umberto Ferrara returns to his team. Ferrara, who had been fired last September, will be back on the staff of the world number one. The dismissal had been decided after the revelation of two positive tests for a banned substance a few months earlier on the sidelines of the Indian Wells tournament. Sinner, suspended for three months, from February to early May, under an agreement with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), continued to proclaim his innocence by claiming he was infected by a third person during a massage given by a member of his team. WADA acknowledged the accidental nature of the infection, but still sanctioned the player for his responsibility to those around him. “Umberto,” reads the note released by Sinner's team, "has played an important role in Jannik's development to date, and his return reflects a renewed focus on continuity and performance at the highest level”.
