Fiat has selected Morocco as a strategic hub for its relaunch. Starting from 2026, from the Kenitra plant — already at the center of an important industrial expansion plan by the Stellantis group — two new models from the renewed range of the Italian brand inspired by the new Grande Panda will be produced: the Giga Panda, which could be given a different official name, and, from 2027, the Panda Fastback. Both models will have a manufacturing target of at least 50,000 units per year, with the goal of raising that to 75,000. The two models are the second and third cars in the Panda-inspired family, which began in 2024 with the Fiat Grande Panda, which is presently manufactured in Serbia, despite significant delays and challenges. The two new models, however, will be manufactured in Kenitra to serve not only the North African markets but also, it seems, international ones, including Europe. Stellantis has announced a significant €1.2 billion investment to expand its industrial facility in northwest Morocco.
