The United States will supply Italy with two Gulfstream G550 aircraft that are equipped for electromagnetic warfare. These aircraft are capable of disrupting enemy command and control communications, as well as radar and navigation systems, from a vast distance, using an invisible beam. L3Harris, a US company cooperating with BAE Systems on this approach, has signed a $300 million deal to provide Italy with two futuristic fighters. This is the first time the US government has authorized the sale of the EA-37B to an international ally. The G550s, which have electromagnetic assault capabilities, will offer the Italian Air Force with air jamming capabilities that include range, altitude, and endurance. "We are expanding our support to the Italian armed forces by equipping them with modern mission technologies," said Jason Lambert, head of L3Harris' Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance division. "Our team will offer Italy solutions that will improve its interoperability with the United States and strategic allies, as well as its national security".
