Dividends paid to the state by publicly owned companies have reached €3.3 billion. A €1.3 billion rise from the December prediction (€2 billion). Leading the payments to the Treasury as of June 30 is Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (nearly €1.8 billion), followed by Enel (€515 million), Sace (€405 million), Poste Italiane (€286 million), and Monte dei Paschi di Siena (€127 million). Also contributing to the state’s mega-check are Leonardo (€91 million), Enav (€78 million), Eni (€32.7 million), STMicroelectronics (€18.1 million), Invimit (€3.5 million), FiberCop (€2.4 million), and Consap (€1.6 million). Increased dividends from publicly-owned corporations will be used to "maintain" public finances. A decree setting the integrity, professionalism, and autonomy requirements for directors of publicly-owned firms is now awaited. The implementation of the gender balance legislation is exceedingly slow. The goal of 40% female representation in top executive roles at companies held by unlisted public agencies remains elusive.
