The list of international stars who will tread the red carpet at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival. For the first time in her long career Julia Roberts will star on the Lido. She is in fact the main performer in The Hunt, a new film by Luca Guadagnino (who in agreement with Amazon has decided to participate only out of competition). But from August 27 to September 6 the spotlight will also be on George Clooney, Adam Sandler, Alicia Vikander, Jude Law, Oscar Isaac, Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Jacob Elordi, Christoph Waltz. Plus Tom Waits, Adam Driver, Dwayne Johnson, Al Pacino, Gal Gadot, Gerard Butler, John Malkovich. Just to name a few. There are twenty-one films in competition in the main section, five Italians: Paolo Sorrentino's La grazia (opening film of the kermesse); Leonardo Di Costanzo's Elisa; Pietro Marcello's Duse; Franco Maresco's Un film fatto per bene (“A film done right”); and Gianfranco Rosi's Sotto le nuvole (“Below the clouds”).
