Giorgia Meloni returns to the immigration issue and points the finger at some decisions of the judiciary, which she says seem to hinder the fight against illegal flows. “I see a political design behind certain choices,” she told TG5 news, while claiming that arrivals have dropped 60 percent since the beginning of the year. On the Almasri case, the Prime Minister defends the government's line and dismisses criticism: "My ministers do not act without the knowledge of the Prime Minister. I am not just any Conte". And she warned, “Justice reform is going ahead, I know it can have consequences”. Meloni then spoke about tariffs with the United States, reiterating that Italy will defend its interests, especially for products symbolic of Made in Italy. “Many are irreplaceable, we are pointing that out,” she said. And she recalled new funds for agribusiness and simplifications for businesses. On the infrastructure and reform front, the Prime Minister claimed progress on Roma Capitale and the Strait Bridge: “Others have talked for years, we have acted”. As for the upcoming regional elections, she rules out splits in the center-right: “We will find a square as always, we are together by choice”. Finally, she defends the extension of the SEZ to Marche and Umbria, calling it “a concrete opportunity” for two regions in economic transition: “Too bad that even on this the oppositions prefer controversy”.
