The number of victims of the West Nile virus in Lazio has risen to six. The latest is an 83-year-old woman from Pontinia, who died at the Santa Maria Goretti Hospital in Latina, where she had been admitted to the emergency room on July 24 in serious condition. Admitted to intensive care due to multiple concomitant pathologies, she did not make it. Nationwide, the death toll linked to the virus has risen to 13. Meanwhile, the first positive case has also been reported in Rome, at the Spallanzani Institute: it is a woman with no links to the Agro Pontino area.
