The Italian Under-21 women's volleyball team accomplished an incredible achievement by capturing the global title in Surabaya, Indonesia. The team coached by Gaetano Gagliardi prevailed in the final against Japan at the end of a hard-fought match, coming back to win 3-2 (25-22, 22-25, 15-25, 25-19, 15-11). This is the Azzurrini's return to the top of the podium after winning gold in 2021 and silver in 2023. A triumphant run started on August 7 with victories over the Czech Republic, Algeria, Poland, and Egypt, with the exception of a loss to Turkey. Following that, a new wave of success arrived: victories over Indonesia and China, a spectacular victory over Brazil in the semifinals (3-0), and a final victory against Japan, who had been undefeated up to that time.
