Marc Marquez's successful MotoGP run continues. On the Spielberg track, the Spaniard won his first overall victory in Austria, his ninth of the season and sixth in a row. After chasing Marco Bezzecchi for much of the race, the eight-time world champion made the decisive move mid-race, taking the lead and holding it until the finish line. Behind him, Fermin Aldeguer staged a comeback race: after overtaking Francesco Bagnaia and Pedro Acosta, he took advantage of their duel to break away and chase the leading pair. The young Spaniard then overtook Bezzecchi, who took Aprilia to the podium for the first time in Austria with a gutsy third-place finish. Bagnaia finished eighth after a poor finish, and he was passed by Acosta (seventh), Bastianini (fifth, his best season performance with the KTM Tech3), Mir, and Binder. Raul Fernandez finished ninth on the Aprilia Trackhouse, while Alex Marquez finished tenth after being penalized for a long lap at start. Jorge Martin, on the other hand, retired midway through the race due to a dramatic crash, but he sustained no serious injuries. Also in the points were Franco Morbidelli (11th), Zarco, Marini, Ogura, and Quartararo, only 15th with a Yamaha that ended the weekend at the back of the pack: all M1s out of the top ten, with Rins, Oliveira, and Miller behind the Frenchman. Di Giannantonio retired when his Ducati VR46 caught fire. Marc Marquez's overall point total now stands at 418, well ahead of his brother Alex (226) and Bagnaia (221). Bezzecchi is fourth with 178 points, while Morbidelli and Di Giannantonio are tied on 144, along with Acosta. With his second place in Spielberg, Aldeguer climbs to eighth (121 points), ahead of Zarco (114) and Quartararo (103).
