Health Minister Orazio Schillaci has signed a decree revoking the appointment of all members of the National Technical Advisory Group on Vaccinations (NITAG). The decision follows recent debate over two members of the body's opinions on vaccines. In a statement, the ministry stated that a new procedure for selecting members will now commence, with the goal of assuring the participation of all interested groups and stakeholders. "The safeguarding of public health necessitates the most meticulous and rigorous work, devoid of any fanfare", emphasized Schillaci. "It is in this spirit that we have always operated and will continue to operate, in the exclusive interest of citizens".
