Tragedy on the Mont Blanc massif. On Sunday, August 17, a mountaineer died after falling on the Brouillard ridge at an altitude of 4,030 meters. The Valle d'Aosta Alpine Rescue team arrived on the scene, recovered the body, and transported it to Courmayeur. The investigation has been turned over to the Guardia di Finanza in Entrèves. The victim's two companions were unharmed and led down the valley. Another mountaineer was rescued yesterday on Mont Blanc, following a challenging six-hour operation on the Dente del Gigante. The man had fallen and remained suspended in the vacuum, dangling from the rope. After many attempts to approach him by helicopter, rescuers disembarked at a lower elevation. They ascended the mountain to reach him and then transported him to the Torino shelter, where he was rescued by helicopter.
