A 15-year-old boy was struck by lightning this afternoon in Coppo di Crognaleto, in the province of Teramo, during a violent thunderstorm that affected the inland areas of Abruzzo. The young man was with his father, who immediately called for help. Transported in code red to San Salvatore Hospital in L'Aquila by 118 helicopter, he is now in intensive care. His condition is serious and the prognosis remains reserved. Law enforcement officers also responded to the scene.
