Eighty-two years old and the desire to still put himself out there. Lamberto Boranga, former goalkeeper for Perugia, Fiorentina and Cesena, has never stopped considering competitive sports part of his life. Today, a cardiology doctor and athletics Masters champion, he is preparing for a new challenge: to return to the field, registered with Trevana, to play at least one Umbrian First Category match in October. "It can be done, if you are fit and trained. At the end of the day, at 82 years old you are just a grown-up kid", smiles Boranga, who has been training for a month with goalkeeper trainer Marco Bonaiuti, formerly at Inter with Samir Handanovic. "I have good feelings, but I don't know if I will be able to play the whole match. I certainly don't go to the locker room to lead". The return to Trevi is no accident: it is the land of oil and a place to which Boranga is particularly attached. “As a boy I was a bit restless, and soccer helped me a lot”, he recalls. Now, with the same passion as always, he is ready to put the gloves back on.
