Italian coaches, through the AIAC, have sent a letter to FIGC President Gabriele Gravina, asking that Italian soccer advocate to UEFA and FIFA for the temporary suspension of Israel from international competitions as a sign of mobilization in favor of the Palestinian people. The initiative, announced by the association led by Renzo Ulivieri, comes a month before the double challenge between Italy and Israel valid for the World Cup qualifiers. “It is not just a symbolic action, but a necessary choice that responds to a moral imperative,” explained the AIAC president, emphasizing the unanimous support of the board. Alongside him were also the vice presidents: Giancarlo Camolese, who urged not to “turn away thinking only of playing”, Vincenzo Vossi, who recalled the victims including “so many sportsmen”, and Maurizio Perondi, who called indifference “not permissible” in the face of a tragedy that affects entire peoples.
