Rail traffic on the Brenner-Trento line has been suspended after an accident this morning at Roncafort on the outskirts of Trento. During a maneuver, some freight wagons broke away from the convoy going to hit a regional train that was stopped at the signal at the time. The impact caused one carriage to derail and two people to be slightly injured, suffering bruises. No passengers or staff members are reported to be in serious condition. The route between Mezzocorona and Trento was interrupted to allow the railway police to conduct the necessary investigation and technical investigations to clarify the dynamics of the accident and restore safety on the line.
