On Sunday, September 7, 2025, the Grand Canal will once again host the Regata Storica, with the splendor of vintage boats. The event, which is a fusion of entertainment, history, and sports, is the pinnacle of a collective celebration that starts on Friday, August 29, with the "Disnar per la Storica”, a collective dinner that is held at a variety of places throughout the city. On Thursday, September 4, the blessing of the gondolas will take place in Campo della Salute. The main event will take place on Sunday, September 7, with the spectacular historical-sporting parade starting at 3:30 p.m: dozens of boats will sail along the Grand Canal, accompanied by performers in Renaissance costumes. Caterina Cornaro, Queen of Cyprus and Venetian noblewoman, will have an honorary boat named after her. The parade will traverse the St. Mark's Basin, proceed along the Grand Canal to the Rialto Bridge and the Ferrovia, and then return to the 'machina', where all scheduled regattas will conclude. There will also be a women-only regatta.
