Until September 7, Cortonantiquaria, the oldest Italian Antiques Fair, is being held in the Tuscan city of Cortona. The 2025 edition takes place in one of the most iconic spots of the historic center – the former convent of Sant’Agostino. This year, the fair showcases 22 antique dealers who have been carefully chosen to represent a variety of product categories, including paintings, sculptures, silver, majolica, furniture, textiles, and decorative objects. Among the exhibited works are a 16th-century predella with the «Storie della Vergine», attributed to Francesco Signorelli and returned to Cortona after more than 150 years, and the painting «Nettuno che inforca il mostro marino», attributed to Guercino and Bartolomeo Gennari. Flemish still lifes, Renaissance landscapes, 16th-century Lombard-Venetian panel paintings, and a series of French and German sculptures from the 15th to 16th centuries are also on display. The Cortona Middle Ages serve as a common thread throughout the edition.
