The Emilia-based team “Onda Solare” has arrived in Australia for the 2025 World Solar Challenge, the world's most prestigious race for photovoltaic-powered vehicles: 3,022 km from Darwin to Adelaide. Participating will be “Emilia 5.9”, a four-seater car designed and built thanks to the joint efforts of students and researchers from the Ferrari Institute in Maranello, the University of Bologna, ITS Maker Academy, and CNR, with the support of various companies. The carbon fiber vehicle, equipped with solar panels, weighs 460 kg and reaches 120 km/h. After a long journey by land, it has finally reached Darwin for technical checks, ready to challenge over 40 international teams. A true gem made in Emilia-Romagna.
