On the eve of the 2025 US Open, Jannik Sinner revealed an unusual aspect of his preparation: Lego. “Here in New York, I know I have a little more time, so I went to a store near my hotel and bought a Porsche, which I finished in five hours. Then I got an even bigger model. I put on some music and think about other things: there is a lot of pressure on us athletes, and I like to unwind like this in the evening”, explained the world number one. The Italian champion arrives at Flushing Meadows after the scare in Cincinnati, but reassures everyone about his condition: “I'm fine, today is the first day that everything is back to normal”. Sinner also spoke about his mental approach: “I never think about being number one. I can say that I'm a strong player, but I believe that you really become number one because of how you behave off the court”. It's been a growth process that has taken time: “At first, I wanted everything right away, I wasn't patient. I learned to work on the details, to build step by step. I've been working on this for years with mental coach Ceccarelli”. Finally, a comment on the circuit's busy schedule: “Some things work, others less so. Perfection doesn't exist, and tennis players have different points of view. There's no point in talking about it too much now”.
