Workers who have been trained in their home countries are increasingly arriving in Italy. The numbers remain low, but the trend is gradually expanding. 55 initiatives have been approved by the Ministry of Labor, which involve 6,691 citizens from 22 non-European countries, including Tunisia, Ghana, Egypt, Albania, Bangladesh, and Peru. A total of 121 classes have been set up, and the training is both professional and civic-linguistic. Local courses are generally focused on mechanical, plant engineering, construction, and tourism. There are additional projects involving transportation, logistics, textiles, and clothes. Training projects are also underway in Mexico, the Philippines, and Egypt, with a total of 1,680 participants. Approximately 450 people have completed the training program, and more than 200 have already arrived in Italy. The first contract is for one year, but there are excellent opportunities for permanent employment. Assistance is offered in locating housing and other support initiatives that facilitate integration, such as health insurance, schools for children, and canteens.
