“Our stadiums are in a comatose state, I am worried. Revocation of the bid for Euro 2032? The risk is there,” Ezio Maria Simonelli, President of Lega Serie A, told Radio Anch'io Sport. According to Simonelli, Udine represents a positive example thanks to its Bluenergy Stadium, but beyond Udine, Bergamo and Turin, “the rest of our stadiums are backward”. The Lega Serie A president agrees with Ceferin's criticism of Italian facilities, pointing out that in the past 18 years only six stadiums have been inaugurated, including three in Serie A, while in the rest of Europe there have been 226 new stadiums. “We are insisting with the government to streamline procedures, but I am really worried about the 2032 European Championships”, Simonelli concluded.
