Leonardo Bertulazzi, 73, a former member of the Red Brigades, is leaving prison and returning to house arrest in Buenos Aires with an electronic bracelet. The decision came from Argentina's Federal Court of Cassation, which took into account his age and his health condition, marked by heart and visual problems. Bertulazzi will be allowed to undergo medical examinations and will remain under constant surveillance, with a Federal Police patrol assigned to monitor him around the clock. “This is good news”, commented his attorney Rodolfo Yanzón. The measure will remain in effect until his refugee status is determined, on which a final decision by Argentine authorities is awaited.
