Villa Certosa, Silvio Berlusconi's former summer property overlooking the sea in Porto Rotondo, Sardinia, is about to change its owner. According to speculations, and despite the family's denials, negotiations have reached their conclusion. Following the death of the founder of Mediaset and Forza Italia in June 2023, ownership of the villa passed to his heirs, who first appeared to want to keep it as a family asset. However, in recent months, the climate has shifted: the goal is now to find a buyer capable of valuing the entire complex. The last official estimate, requested during Silvio Berlusconi's lifetime, was around €260 million, while the latest bid is close to €500 million, taking into account the property's strategic, symbolic, and architectural importance. For the time being, the potential buyers' identities remain undisclosed. La Nuova Sardegna reports that one of them is an Arab magnate who is well-known in the international luxury and real estate investment circles. The villa covers more than 4,500 square meters of built area, set in a 120-hectare natural park, in one of the most exclusive areas of the Mediterranean. The mansion has hosted former US President George W. Bush, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
