The historic Versilian venue “La Capannina di Franceschi”, founded in 1929 and now a landmark of Italian high society, officially passes into the hands of Giorgio Armani. After months of rumors, the fashion house confirmed the acquisition with a statement in which the designer emphasized the sentimental value of the transaction. For Armani, who recently celebrated his 91st birthday, this is a return to his roots: it was in Forte dei Marmi in the 1960s that he met Sergio Galeotti, his friend and future business partner. Deeply attached to Versilia, which he has always considered a personal refuge, Armani describes the purchase as a tribute to Italian tradition and to a place that has welcomed generations of artists and intellectuals. The new management will officially take over in the summer of 2026, with the aim of keeping alive the glamour and cultural spirit that has made the venue famous in almost a century of history.
