Andy Diaz and Larissa Iapichino won the Diamond Trophy in Zurich on the second day of the 2025 Diamond League finals. The Cuban-born Italian triple jumper secured his third title, following those in 2022 and 2023, by winning at the Letzigrund Stadium with a leap of 17.56 meters. The Italian long jumper, instead, soared to 6.93 meters, repeating last year’s victory in Brussels. Diaz's competition was thrilling: 17.31 on his debut, then 16.95 and a foul, until the fourth jump that secured him the win. On the podium with him were Portugal's Pedro Pichardo (17.47) and Algeria's Mohammed Triki, who ran a personal best of 17.42. There was also excitement in the women's long jump, as Iapichino began with a no-jump, landed a 6.74m leap on her second attempt, and won on her third. Her following three jumps yielded little improvement, and Germany's Malaika Mihambo came close with a 6.92m jump in the final round, but the Italian stood firm and reaffirmed her status as the diamond queen.
