Moments of fear yesterday at Cinecittà World, the amusement park in Castel Romano, on the outskirts of Rome. The Altair ride, the park's iconic roller coaster, came to a halt about twenty meters in the air owing to a technical malfunction, leaving 15 people, including four minors, trapped for approximately an hour. The alert was triggered around 2:30 PM, when park personnel notified the fire department's operations office. Rescuers from Pomezia responded to the scene with a ladder truck, while technicians from the SAF unit, who specialize in interventions at height, reached the passengers and assisted them down safely. According to an initial reconstruction, the malfunction affected two cars of the train, forcing them to stop mid-course. There were no recorded injuries or illnesses, but individuals who found themselves suspended in the air on a hot summer day experienced immense fear and tension. The ride was promptly suspended for technical inspections to ascertain the reason of the incident and assure safety before restarting. The park reassured tourists in a statement: "Our guests' safety is our number one priority. The firefighters arrived swiftly, and all passengers were successfully retrieved without injury".
