After establishing a presence in France, La Piadineria announces its debut in New York in December and January. In Italy, La Piadineria—the largest fast food chain—is second only to McDonald's in terms of market penetration: it presently operates in 18 regions with 481 stores (15% franchised, a figure that is likely to grow in the future) and 3,500 employees. La Piadineria, founded in 1994, is currently the fastest-growing fast-casual food chain. The business offers around 30 different types of piadina, all made with dough created wholly in the Montirone (Brescia) plant using the original recipe. La Piadineria currently serves an average of nearly 74,000 piadinas per day, which are baked and filled by hand and prepared fresh in accordance with customer requests with fresh ingredients purchased from Italian suppliers to guarantee maximum product quality.
