Yet another example of "rude tourism" in Venice. On Sunday night, two teenage guests, presumably Hungarians, decided to climb the Rialto Bridge. Using the grates of shuttered stores to climb, the two managed to reach the top of the capital at the peak of the bridge, showing off on the city’s symbolic monument. A resident observed them and, after notifying the authorities, captured a photograph of them and posted it on social media. The photographs instantly went viral online, presenting yet another example of a never-ending phenomenon in Venice. The incident is part of an apparently ongoing series of uncivilized behavior reported in the lagoon, many of which occurred within the last several months. The first of the season dates back to March 13, when an Austrian tourist decided to turn the Grand Canal into a swimming pool, repeatedly diving in front of Santa Lucia station, at Fondamenta San Simeon Piccolo. Just a few days ago, a restaurant owner reported finding dirty diapers abandoned on plates.
