"These dairy export figures are a historic milestone that recognizes the extraordinary efforts of our farmers, dairies, and the entire supply chain. They bring a heritage of quality, tradition, and innovation to the world with dedication and enthusiasm. Italian cheeses reflect not just gastronomic brilliance, but also a cultural and regional identity that is becoming increasingly popular overseas. Under Prime Minister Meloni, the government will continue to back and promote this strategic sector, enabling it to grow and reaffirm Italy's position as a European agri-food leader". Francesco Lollobrigida, Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forestry, made this statement in response to data from the European Commission on EU dairy exports to non-EU nations. Italian exports hit a new record in the first half of 2025, outpacing Germany with 97,663 tonnes worth €968.2 million, growing by 5% compared to the same period last year.
