Italy commemorated the 43rd anniversary of the death of Carabinieri General Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa, who was assassinated along with his wife Emanuela Setti Carraro and escort agent Domenico Russo in a terrible mafia attack in Palermo on September 3, 1982. Dalla Chiesa, known for his persistent efforts against terrorism and organized crime, was appointed Prefect of Palermo just a few months before to strengthen the fight against the Mafia.
