The Olympic and Paralympic Village in Cortina d’Ampezzo is progressing rapidly, moving closer each day to becoming the vibrant hub of daily life during the Games. More than just buildings, it will be the heart where athletes from all nations come together to train, connect, and share in the spirit of sport and community—set against the breathtaking backdrop of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites. As reported by the Ministry of Transport the project has now entered one of its final stages: the construction of the two main buildings, designed as true community hubs. Each spans two floors of 2,400 square meters (about 25,800 sq. ft.) per level, offering space for organizing offices and team facilities, as well as modern gyms and 24/7 medical centers to ensure athletes’ well-being and support throughout the competitions. In the coming weeks, installation of essential systems—water, electricity, and heating—will be completed, bringing the spaces to full functionality. Then comes the final touch: official Games branding and graphics that will brighten the interiors, making them welcoming and familiar for athletes. The Cortina Village is designed to be more than just temporary housing: it will be a place of meeting, shared values, and cultural exchange, built with dedication by Italy’s Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport together with SIMICO, the company overseeing the Games’ infrastructure projects.
