A film will tell the life of Sergio Marchionne, the Italo-Canadian manager who died in 2018 at the age of 66, and who saved Fiat and Chrysler. The film will be titled 'Falcon' and directed by Marco Bellocchio, one of Italy's greatest directors. Filming is set for 2026 and will take place in Canada, the United States and Italy. The primary Italian location will be Turin. In an interview with the newspaper La Stampa, the filmmaker described Marchionne as "a tragic winner". "I like the idea", Bellocchio says, "of telling the story of an Italian who challenges two American giants, GM and Chrysler, and wins". He does not allow himself to be subjugated or crushed. I like telling the story of a winner who, once back home, is met with hostility from some Italian institutions — left, center, and right. A tragic winner, indeed".
