A wide-ranging briefing, from the conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine to the challenges of international trade. Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani presented Italy's foreign policy priorities before the Senate and subsequently the Chamber of Deputies, emphasizing the government's support for both Gaza and Kyiv. "My briefing cannot begin without mentioning the tragedy in Gaza, which remains an open wound for the whole world community. I want to be clear: what is happening in the Strip is becoming increasingly unacceptable", Tajani said, underlining Italy's opposition to Israel's intention to occupy the city and any possibility of forcible relocation of Palestinians. The minister denounced "this carnage, which must cease immediately," and underscored that "we cannot and will not submit to additional military escalation". At the same time, he emphasized Hamas' "enormous responsibility for unleashing this terrible spiral of violence". Italy asserts that it is playing a leading role in the development of a peace perspective on the operational front. "Thirteen of our Carabinieri are in Jericho, where they are training the Palestinian security forces. Additionally, seven Carabinieri are on the front lines of the EUBAM Rafah mission, where they are managing the crossing and training of Palestinian counterparts", Tajani explained.
