The sequel to the film "The Devil Wears Prada" will be partially shot in Milan, Italy's fashion capital. The film, which will be released in theaters on May 1, 2026, is a sequel to the 2006 film based on Lauren Weisberger's best-selling novel, directed by David Frankel and starring Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Simon Baker, and Adrian Grenier. That film grossed over $326 million and earned two Oscar nominations. Given that success, the producers have once again entrusted the director to David Frankel. Miranda Priestly will not be missing, once again played by Meryl Streep. Filming in Milan is set to take place from October 6 to 18, set among fashion shows and events in full “fashion week style". The filming of The Devil Wears Prada 2 in Milan will involve about 2,000 extras: all over 30, they must already work in fashion, design, communications, or events, in order to make the scenes more realistic. Some scenes are planned to take place in the Brera district, including one involving roughly 1,000 people.
