Katia Buchicchio, 18, from Anzi in Basilicata, has been crowned Miss Italia 2025. She won the title during the final held at Pala Savelli in Porto San Giorgio, Marche. Representing her region with the title of Miss Basilicata, she beat Asia Campanelli (Miss Marche) and Fanny Tardioli (Miss Umbria) among 40 contestants from all over Italy. Her victory was welcomed with pride in her region, where she is seen as a sign of talent and dedication. Katia is the first Miss Italia ever from Basilicata.
Born in Anzi, a small town in the province of Potenza, Katia has just turned 18. She stands 1.75 m tall, graduated from a scientific high school, and is now enrolled in a program in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics, showing a strong interest in a medical career. Her gentle features and confidence on stage won over not only the judges but also viewers at home. Despite her youth, Katia has already built a personal identity anchored in her traditions: she is passionate about embroidery, a craft passed down by her grandmothers, which she spoke about with pride during the competition. Her win is not only a beauty achievement but also an opportunity to highlight her Lucanian roots on the national stage, where merit, preparation, and stage presence matter.
