Milan could soon see a historic turning point for its stadium. “If all goes well, tomorrow we should go to the council meeting” with the resolution for the sale of San Siro, announced Mayor Giuseppe Sala live on RTL 102.5 radio. "The stadium must be completed by 2031," he continued, "as UEFA has informed us that Milan will not be considered as a venue for the 2032 European Championships if San Siro continues to be used". The financial details of the sale have not yet been revealed, but the agreement between the city, AC Milan, and Inter signifies a significant step forward. After years of waiting and researching alternate sites—from Rozzano for Inter to San Donato for AC Milan—the two clubs will finally be able to design a new, proprietary stadium on par with Europe's top stadiums. Now, if no further obstacles arise, the process can move quickly.
