Amplifon, the Italian multinational and global leader in hearing solutions and services, has announced the introduction of its Climate Strategy, which has been certified by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). The initiative is part of the company's efforts to contribute to the goals outlined in the 2015 Paris Agreement and improve its commitment to fighting climate change. The new roadmap, titled "Listening to our Planet", calls for a 42% decrease in direct emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by 2030, compared to 2023 levels. At the same time, Amplifon intends to reduce indirect emissions (Scope 3) by 25% generated along the value chain, from acquired goods and services to logistics, employee commuting to product use, and franchisee activities. Another objective pertains to the supply chain: by 2030, nearly half of the company's suppliers (44.36% in terms of emissions related to purchased products and services) will be required to implement science-based climate targets. "The launch of a scientifically validated climate plan", said CEO Enrico Vita, "represents a further step forward in incorporating ESG factors into our business. Making tangible promises to cut emissions complements last year's sustainability strategy, which includes 20 quantifiable goals for 2026, 2028, and 2030 in the areas of products and services, ethics and environmental responsibility, people, and communities. We wish to expand in a more responsible and sustainable manner".
