Robert Redford, who died in his sleep at the age of 89, will also be remembered in Italy for his presence on the red carpet at the 2017 Venice Film Festival, when he walked with his colleague Jane Fonda (who co-starred with him in the out-of-competition film "Our Souls at Night"). On that occasion, the actor received the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement (together with Jane Fonda), and his speech brought smiles to the audience, who had gathered to witness "Our Souls at Night". The actor stated, "I absolutely wanted to make another film with Jane before I die; I wanted another chance with her". When Redford showed the audience the Golden Lion, he received a standing ovation and five minutes of applause.
