The Ponte Art and Design District, Rome’s new district for design, artistic craftsmanship, antiques, and art, is taking shape. It stretches through the city center between Piazza Navona and Castel Sant’Angelo, along Via dei Banchi Nuovi. The initiative includes 28 businesses in the design and art sectors, as well as the city's top design and architecture universities, design firms, and luxury hotels. The goal is to highlight the neighborhood's creative prowess while also fostering an active network that will engage the public through a series of scholarly and participatory activities. Also on the horizon is the permanent pedestrianization of Via dei Banchi Nuovi for its entire 200-meter length. The district will bring together artisanal companies and design firms that have been operating in the neighborhood for decades, as well as new ventures focused on contemporary art.
