On September 21, Andrea Bocelli: Because I Believe will premiere in cinemas across more than 130 countries. Directed by Cosima Spender, known for the Netflix series Sanpa, the documentary offers an intimate journey into the life of the world-renowned tenor. For the first time, Bocelli himself narrates his story—not only as a tireless performer, but as a devoted father and a man deeply rooted in faith and love.
“The reason I embraced Cosima’s proposal is already in the title: Because I Believe,” Bocelli explained. “I believe in people, in life, and in God, who gave it to us. I believe in the power of love, which moves the world and which I have always sought to express through my music.”
Through archival footage, never-before-seen testimonies, and behind-the-scenes moments, the documentary paints an authentic and spontaneous portrait. “I wanted to capture the atmosphere of his daily world,” said Spender, “where music is woven into every moment, together with his contagious optimism.”
The project was backed by an award-winning international production team, with filming across the United States, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Produced by Lionsgate, the documentary will be distributed globally by Trafalgar Releasing.
