Italian small and medium-sized enterprises that sold through Amazon achieved a record-breaking result in 2024, with international sales exceeding €1.2 billion. According to a new analysis on the economic impact of Italian SMEs active on the platform, 65% of enterprises have expanded outside national borders, contributing to the global reach of Made in Italy products. Companies in rural or low-density areas also played an important role, with over 9,000 enterprises, or 45% of the total, generating almost €500 million in exports in 2023. The most dynamic regions in terms of export value are Lombardy, Campania, Lazio, Tuscany, and Emilia-Romagna, with the biggest export markets being the United States, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and Spain. The numbers were presented at the event "10 Years of Amazon’s Made in Italy Showcase: A Journey Around the World: the project, which began in 2015, now includes over 5,500 companies and more than 3 million products available in eleven countries.
