Childhood, family relationships, friendships, studies, education, vocation, first steps into consecrated life, social commitment, sporting interests, and culinary preferences. The documentary "Leo from Chicago" provides a detailed and, in some respects, unparalleled depiction of Pope Leo XIV. It is a work of the Editorial Directorate of the Dicastery for Communication, in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Apostolado El Sembrador Nueva Evangelización, that explores the current Pontiff's history in his native land, the United States. Journalists Deborah Castellano Lubov, Salvatore Cernuzio, and Felipe Herrera-Espaliat travel around Chicago neighborhoods, starting with the family home in Dolton and following the recollections and stories of his two brothers, Louis Martin and John. It then moves on to the Augustinians' offices, schools, and parishes; the Catholic Theological Union; and locations frequented by then-Father Robert Francis Prevost such as Aurelio’s Pizza restaurant or the Rate Field, home stadium of the White Sox. The journey extends to Villanova University, a few kilometers from Philadelphia, and to Port Charlotte (Florida), the residence of his older brother. Through anecdotes, photographs, films, and stories, approximately 30 individuals who are connected to the current Pontiff support the documentary in exploring the character of the individual who has been appointed to lead the Catholic Church since May 8th.
