In Italy, private wealth is increasing, with 472,000 High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs)—people with assets greater than one million euros—and a population of ultra-HNWIs (above $30 million) that has topped 16,000 and is still growing. In a snapshot of the condition of Italy's super-rich, Ener2Crowd, the ESG investment platform, notes that the total wealth of billionaires worldwide increased from $6.3 trillion to $15 trillion from 2015 to 2025, a 138% increase. Individuals with assets surpassing €30 million have more than quadrupled. The recent passing of Giorgio Armani has reignited the debate on the social and cultural value of large fortunes. The top 10 Italian richest men, as compiled by Ener2Crowd, highlight the most renowned names: Giovanni Ferrero and family with $49.1 billion, Andrea Pignataro $23.9 billion, Paolo Rocca and family $15.3 billion, Giorgio Armani's estate $12.1 billion, Giancarlo Devasini $11.5 billion, Piero Ferrari $9.96 billion, Francesco Gaetano Caltagirone $8.5 billion, Miuccia Prada $6.85 billion, Patrizio Bertelli $6.81 billion, and Gianfelice Rocca $6 billion.
