Inter and Milan have announced an agreement with Foster + Partners and Manica to design their new stadium in Milan, contingent on the City Council’s approval of the sale of the San Siro redevelopment area. “This is a crucial step,” the clubs said in a joint statement. “Working with two of the world’s most prestigious firms underlines our commitment to giving fans and the city a state-of-the-art venue, combining innovation, sustainability and world-class standards.” The new arena will be part of a 281,000-square-meter urban regeneration project. Designed with two steeply inclined rings to maximize sightlines, it will seat 71,500 spectators and meet the highest accessibility standards. The clubs also promise affordable ticket sections and enhanced fan experiences. Foster and Manica previously collaborated on one of football’s landmark projects: the new Wembley Stadium in London.
