The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense has exercised the option to extend support services for its Eurofighter fleet, a program for which Leonardo is the prime contractor. Under the new service agreement, Integrated Logistic Support and Training will be provided locally by Leonardo Aviation Services at the Salem Al Sabah air base through December 2029. This milestone further consolidates the strategic partnership between Leonardo and Kuwait. The Gulf country ordered 28 Eurofighter Typhoons in 2016 to strengthen its air defense capabilities. Deliveries began at the end of 2021, and most of the aircraft are already operational. Built in Italy, the jets are equipped with the most advanced production standard currently available. By providing on-site support, Leonardo ensures that the Kuwaiti Air Force can fully exploit the operational potential of the Eurofighter to meet national defense requirements.
